About me

I'm Erik, a product engineer from l'Hospitalet de Llobregat. I build Peak Health in my spare time and spend the rest of it on the trails of Collserola.

How I got here

I came into software through IT support. At Glovo I sat next to the developers until I wanted to do what they did, so I finished my web development degree online, did a bootcamp and switched to engineering. If you're trying to make a similar jump, write to me.

Why I'm building Peak Health

I trained with other apps for years but never liked their interfaces, and once trail running changed my strength work they stopped fitting at all, so I'm building my own. It also bothers me how many health and sports apps give you a score instead of asking how you feel, because how many times have you woken up full of energy and had your watch tell you that you slept badly?

The mountains

As a kid I played football, until I was 18, and after the pandemic I started running. I've always loved the mountains, since I went a lot with my parents, and before running I was already hiking and snowboarding. When I found trail running two years ago and saw I could run in the mountains, have fun and visit amazing places, everything clicked. The races I've finished are on the Training page.

I'm also taking Fit Generation's personal trainer course to learn, not to coach anyone.

What I write about

Say hello

I write for developers, runners and anyone looking after their health. If something here helps you, or it's wrong, or you want to talk code or trail running, email me at erikpastorrios1994@gmail.com. I read everything.
